All leaseholders are responsible for their own central heating requirements, whether for themselves or their sub-tenants. Leaseholders should avoid misleading references to “communal central heating” when sub-letting their flats and should make sub-tenants fully aware that October to April is normally the only time that background heating is provided to communal areas and top-floor areas.
